When it comes to weddings are you the kind of girl who loves dancing to cheesy music, chatting the ear off your friend’s great-uncle John and stashing wedding cake in your clutch for later?

Or are you the kind of girl who would rather stick a pencil in her eye than deal with loved up couples and “will you be next?!” conversations?

The Irish Sun reports today that when it comes to witnessing friends and family tie the knot, almost half of Irish singletons would rather stay at home. Yes, apparently the unattached amongst us absolutely hate the thoughts of going to weddings.

A survey, carried out by online dating website Parship, revealed that 46 per cent of Irish people hate going to weddings simply because their own relationship status quickly becomes the main topic of conversation – any of us who have been given pity glances by our relatives because we show up alone can wholeheartedly agree with this statistic.

And the remainder of people questioned in the survey admitted that their biggest fear when attending a wedding as a singleton is the fact that they could be placed at the “leftovers” tables with spinster aunts and grannies.

So are you a hell-yeah kind of wedding guest when you’re single or would you prefer to stay at home and avoid being asked the ever-annoying question of: “so, are you seeing anyone special?”
