The suspect was said to be “30 minutes away” from where Maddie went missing.
A new Maddie McCann doc airing soon on TV is believed to reveal fresh new info on the case.
Madeleine McCann: Investigating the Prime Suspect is a three-part documentary coming to Channel 5 and is thought to introduce new evidence that will reportedly rule out the current leading suspect, Christian Brueckner.
Brueckner, 44, is currently being held in German prison after he was arrested for an unconnected child abuse charge. He was said to have been in the area when the three-year-old went missing back in 2007.
Although undercover police were reportedly sent in try and get a confession, this new doc is now said to reveal that Brueckner “could not have snatched Madeleine” as he was 30 approximately “30 minutes away” from the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz, Portugal.
As reported by The Sun, the alibi placing him elsewhere also claims that Brueckner was not on the phone at the time – a mysterious and currently untraceable phone call having recently become the apparent key detail in Maddie’s disappearance.
An ongoing probe headed up by former Surrey Police detective, Mark Williams-Thomas, has reportedly found new witnesses in both Portugal and Germany that confirm his alibi holds up.
Little breakthrough has been made in more than a decade and a half since the high-profile missing person case and this serves only as further setback in the search for McCann.
