Muhammad Ali hospitalised with “respiratory issue”

His condition has been described as "fair".

Muhammad Ali was admitted to hospital today after experiencing breathing difficulties.

According to ESPN Sport, he is in “a fair condition” and is being treated by his team of doctors in Phoenix.

A statement released by his spokesperson, Bob Gunnell, said:

“He is being treated by his team of doctors and is in fair condition”. “A brief hospital stay is expected. At this time, the Muhammad Ali family respectfully requests privacy.”

The talented sportsman, a three-time heavyweight boxing champion, retired from the ring in 1981.
