A mother in Wales decided to bug her autistic son’s clothing amid fears teachers were threatening him with abusive language.
According to Wales Online Christine Anne Mayor decided to record what was being said to her 16-year-old son Kyle Thomas when he started slapping his relatives at home.
One of the statements she heard in the recording was: “You knew full well then I was going to smack you back then. That’s why you moved.”
Christine then took what she found to the authorities, which led to an investigation by the police and council.
The publication reports that staff were reminded of the policy to use “appropriate methods of communication and interaction” with pupils in the school.
Speaking about what she found out, Christine said: “I was appalled by it. These are meant to be professional people who are meant to protect disabled children.”
Kyle was removed from Ysgol Hen Felin school in Ystrad, Rhondda, following the incident. It is not known whether any members of staff faced disciplinary action.
