DART services every 10 minutes? Yes, please!
The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Paschal Donohoe TD launched a public consultation at Connolly Station today on a major DART service expansion for 2016.
The proposal has been put forward as a result of an increase in passengers on a number of different routes.
Highlights from the proposed changes include an expansion in Dundalk services to include an extra morning peak express and to make DART services more frequent, to operate every 10 minutes, with a more consistent schedule proposed for weekends.
There is also a proposal for an earlier start time for DART services during the week, with operations to leave from Malahide at 5.50am (currently 6.30am), 6am from Howth, and 5.35 from Bray.
There are also changes being proposed on all Connolly routes and all of these draft schedule revisions are available to be reviewed and commented on here.
Minister Donohoe stated: “The new changes that are being proposed for Connolly routes will offer enhanced frequency on services into and out of that station, giving commuters more choice and better connectivity.
“Proposed changes – which will see DART services running every 10 minutes and for longer hours – will be great news for customers as it should mean less congestion on carriages at peak times and enhanced reliability, both of which will be welcomed.”
