Michaela Case Drawing To A Close -Defence Make Closing Statements

The jury in the trial of two hotel workers accused of killing Michaela McAreavey are expected to begin deliberations on Thursday, as today the defence lawyers make their closing statements.

Closing statements for the defence in the murder trial of Michaela McAreavey have begun.

Lawyers representing Avinash Treebhoowoon and Sandip Moneea, the two hotel workers accused of killing Micheala, have already argued that the case be reopened, and claimed that ‘the real killer is still at large’.

Twenty-seven year old Tyrone woman Michaela was killed while on honeymoon with her new husband John at the Legends Hotel in Mauritius in January of last year.

The jury for the case are expected to begin deliberations on Thursday, following an address from the presiding judge.
