Met Éireann issue fresh weather warning for nine counties

Met Éireann have issued a fresh weather warning for nine counties.

The status yellow rainfall warning covers Cork, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford. It comes into effect at noon  on Saturday, September 28 and ends at the same time on Sunday, September 29. Met Éireann have warned that there will be "heavy rain at times", with up to 25mm to 40mm. There is also a risk of spot flooding in some areas. "Rain will be heaviest from this afternoon to tonight," the forecaster added. As for the rest of the weather forecast, Met Éireann have said there will be "bright spells and scattered showers" on Saturday morning, with it being mainly dry over the northern half of Ulster. On Saturday afternoon, heavy rain will develop in the south and spread northwards over Munster, Leinster and Connacht this evening with a risk of flooding. Highest temperatures of 14C to 16C with moderate southwest winds. On Saturday night,  persistent rain will extend up over Ulster. The rain will become lighter and more showery during the night and will clear from the western half of the country by morning. Lowest temperatures of 9C to 11C. Sunday morning will start off mostly cloudy with some rain and drizzle, as brighter, sunnier weather will extend from the west to all areas by early afternoon. There'll be some scattered showers, mainly in Ulster. Highest temperatures of 14C to 17C with moderate to fresh northwest breezes. Sunday night will be dry in most areas with clear spells. However, rain will develop in the south and southwest towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees with some patches of mist and fog.
