Fans of The Little Mermaid – block your ears. Ariel has never been, and will never be, ‘Part Of Your World’.
That’s the official line from the National Ocean Service, a US government agency who responded to public enquiries.
Who felt the need to ask? Well, it appears as though a recent television show on mermaids was mistaken for a documentary by some American viewers.
The programme, titled ‘Mermaids: The Body Found’, aired back in May on Animal Planet and it seems the, ahem, realistic nature of the programme led to some confusion for viewers.
Confirmation/denial of the singing abilities of crabs are expected before the week is out.
