Awful news.
A man has died following a collision involving a bicycle yesterday afternoon in County Dublin.
Gardai and ambulance services were called to the single-vehicle collision involving a bike that took place yesterday on the Ticknock Road in Ticknock.
A cyclist, who was in his 60s, was rushed to hospital but was tragically declared dead.
Gardai have issued an appeal for witnesses, especially to those with dashcam footage, to come forward to the authorities.
An Garda Siochana explained: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Ticknock Road area between 1:45pm and 2pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Blackrock Garda Station on 01 6665200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
Just last week, another Irish man died after being hit by a car as he was having a drink outside a pub near Birmingham.
Aiden Perris, who was originally from Dublin but had settled in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, was hit by a car in the area where he lived with his wife and two children.
Another man was injured in the incident, and one woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
She was later released as police investigations continue.
