A man said to be in his late 40s has died after a shooting took place overnight in Dublin.
The man was involved in a shooting incident in the early hours of the morning at a house in Ballyfermot, shortly after 5am on the Thomond Road area.
He was shot a number of times and was then pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has remained at the scene this morning and the home has been sealed off to facilitate a garda investigation.
The office of the State Pathologist has been notified and no arrests have been made yet in connection to the incident.
Gardaí are now appealing for anyone with information to contact them at Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01 666 7200, or any garda station.
