Sean McCann (20) and his twin sister, Amelie are both on track to become high-performance athletes.
Amelie takes part in track competitions and triathlons, while Sean wins one swimming competition after the other.
Sean and Amelie were just two years old when their sister Madeleine disappeared 18 years ago in Praia da Luz, Portugal.
Now, Sean is becoming a highly accomplished swimmer, tipped to join Team GB in the next Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028.
Over the last few years, Sean has amassed a series of impressive achievements, for instance, the swimmer recently took home a gold medal after competing in a Mediterranean open-water swimming competition.
Aside from sports, the twins are thriving in their university studies as well.
Sean is studying chemical engineering and has been combining this with swimming competitively, which he has been taking up for nearly a decade.
The 20-year-old seems to be very dedicated to his swimming career. In a post on a local website, he wrote that in 2023 'he got up at 4 am multiple mornings each week to train'.
Sean represented Team Scotland at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2023, making it to the 400 and 1500m Freestyle finals.
Sean also takes up Open Water swimming, being part of the country's National Open Water Development Squad.
In the meantime, his sister Amelie racks up her list of sporting achievements, having competed in cross country and triathlon events while also keeping up with her studies at a university in the north of England.
It seems that the siblings are doing quite well for themselves in spite of all the stress that must come with all the media attention regarding the case of their sister Madeleine.
