Looks like it IS harder to pass your driving tests in certain parts of Ireland

Doesn't it always seem like people from country places have been driving since before they made their confirmation?

Turns out there could actually be some truth in it - new figures show that there's a big difference in pass rates in certain parts of Ireland. The toughest place to get your licence might well be Dublin - the four test centres in the capital have some of the lowest pass rates in the country for the category B driving test. While on average 49.5 per cent of tests nationally are passed, the pass rate at the Finglas test centre is just 40.15 per cent, the numbers revealed by Dublin Live show. Rates are also lower than the national average at the test centres in Raheny (44.69 per cent), Churchtown (44.43 per cent), and Tallaght (44.88 per cent). The pass rate is also below the national average in Kilkenny where just 41.29 per cent of tests end in a pass. Meanwhile, it looks like it might be easier to get your licence in the west of the country. The test centre in Newcastle West in Co Limerick has a pass rate of 70.33 per cent, the highest of anywhere in the country. Behind there came the test centres in Kilrush, Co Clare (65.23 per cent), Clifden in Galway (64.32 per cent), Roscommon (60.25 per cent) and Skibereen in County Cork (60.13 per cent).
