It was an April fools… in March!

Lipton have announced they are discontinuing their iconic Peach Lipton Ice Tea.

In a post on the company’s Instagram account, whose profile picture is now the product sporting angel wings, the announced they were discontinuing the flavour.

They said: “We know – it hurts (sorry if we’ve ruined your go-to afternoon chill bev).

“But don’t worry, the rest of your faves are still here to keep you refreshed. And who knows? Maybe one day, Peach will make a legendary comeback.

“We appreciate your understanding during this period of adjustment and apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

Heartbroken fans took to the comments section to voice their disgust.

One said: “It’s not April fools yet… I’ve literally just bought this now. Only flavour I drink.”

A second said: “Peach Iced Tea was the reason you’re getting paid.”

A third dramatically exclaimed: “Not sure why you’d ruin my life like this to be honest, bit rude.”

Meanwhile, others compared it to if Coca Cola announced they’re discontinuing Coke.

Lipton later announced that the news had been an early April fools joke.

They said in a statement: “Thank you for your interest in the buzz surrounding Lipton Ice Tea Peach. Yes—this was all a playful April Fools’ moment!

“We set out to have some fun and see just how much our fans love Lipton Ice Tea Peach, and the response has been far beyond anything we expected.

“Honestly, we thought we could keep the joke going for a few more days, but with this level of excitement, we’re cutting it short and setting the record straight: Lipton Ice Tea Peach isn’t going anywhere!”
