Add us as a preferred source on Google »Last night, the news emerged that former One Direction singer Liam Payne had tragically died.
Payne died after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Now, The Guardian reports that the singer's cause of death has been confirmed citing reports from the Argentinian prosecutor's office.
The autopsy shows that Payne died from multiple traumas and internal and external bleeding caused by a fall from a third-story hotel balcony.
The autopsy also showed that the singer's head injuries were sufficient to cause death.
It is believed that Payne was alone at the time of his fall.
Substances seized from his hotel room indicate drug and alcohol consumption.
The prosecutors office added that a 'search of Payne's room uncovered what appeared to be narcotics, alcohol, destroyed objects and furniture'.
Since the news of his death first broke, tributes began pouring in for Payne.
The likes of Jedward, Paris Hilton and Charlie Puth have all paid tribute to the singer.
As of yet, his former One Direction bandmates - Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson - have not released a statement.
Speaking on This Morning on Thursday, X Factor host Dermot O'Leary said: "I just thought of his family, I thought of his son and then I thought of his parents. I mean no parent should have to bury their son or their daughter.
"Obviously our thoughts and our prayers, our candles are half-lit for his family. That goes without saying."
A source close to Payne's ex-girlfriend Maya Henry told the Daily Mail she was "obviously in shock."
He has a seven-year-old son, Bear, who he shares with Girls Aloud star and ex-wife Cheryl Cole.
X Factor also paid tribute to Payne, writing on X: "We are heartbroken by the sad passing of Liam Payne.
"He was immensely talented and, as part of One Direction, Liam will leave a lasting legacy on the music industry and fans around the world. Our thoughts are with his friends, family and all who loved him."
