Laura Whitmore and Ian Stirling both took to Instagram on Wednesday (February 18) to announce they are expecting their second child.
Ian, the iconic voiceover presenter of Love Island, and Laura, the show’s former host, are already proud parents to their four-year-old daughter, Stevie, whom they welcomed in 2021.
Laura shared a series of heartwarming photos from recent months on her Instagram, showing off her blossoming baby bump.
In her caption, Laura wrote: “Instagram V Reality – Spoiler: It wasn’t just a big meal mama ate. She’s been cooking away! I’d like to thank stretchy pants and travel sick bags.”
Meanwhile, Ian posted his own announcement on his personal Instagram page, sharing a sweet snap of their newborn's crib along with a baby football jersey for his favoured team, Hibernian FC.
Alongside the photo, Ian wrote: “New Hibbie incoming. Praying they don’t prefer rugby.”
Fans, family and friends were quick to flood the couple's comment section with heartfelt messages extending their congratulations.
Former I'm A Celebrity winner Giovanna Fletcher wrote: “Whoooooop!!!! Xxxx."
“As if I was thinking about you the other day, congratulations queen,” Strictly Come Dancing alum Oti Mabuse commented.
Laura and Ian first met back in 2016 at an ITV party, where they "hit it off instantly".
Laura previously told The Sun: “When we first met, he didn’t even hit on me, he was too nervous to hit on me! I think he was intimidated by me. I remember Iain was too scared to ask me out, so in the end I had to ask him out.
The couple then finally tied the knot in November 2020 in a humanist ceremony at Dublin City Hall. It was only a few months later that the pair welcomed their daughter, Stevie Ré, in March 2021.
