A former Irish President and a legendary Irish comedian will be on the programme.

The Late Late Show is back this Friday night (31 January) with another packed line-up.

Former President Mary McAleese and former broadcaster Mary Kennedy – who now host The Changing Times podcast – will talk about their thriving friendship, not retiring, the state of the world and the upcoming Irish Presidential election.

Marking his 30th year on screens in 2025, actor and comedian Pat Shortt will join host Patrick Kielty to discuss his career highs, as well as to share his memories of the late and great Jon Kenny and their beloved comedy act D’unbelievables.

Home from the world’s toughest row, Team Power Of 1’s John O’Driscoll, Conor McCarthy, Daragh Kelly, Enda McNicholas and Roger McMorrow will also be on the programme for a Late Late Show homecoming celebration.

In what was a heroic journey that had the country row in behind them, they rowed across the Atlantic Ocean from San Sebastian de La Gomera, Spain to Antigua.

Team Power of 1 were raising funds for children born with congenital heart disease in Ireland in memory of John’s 13-year-old daughter Saoirse, their honorary sixth crew member.

On top of this, the first-ever Irish Gladiator (not counting Paul Mescal, of course), Cyclone, will be in the studio.

Cyclone will chat about how she went from being a powerlifting world champion to dominating the Gladiator arena, as well as the reaction to her debut on the hit show.

Last but not least, Fermanagh’s The Tumbling Paddies make their return to The Late Late Show.

Bringing their trad/pop sound, the six-piece band will perform ‘Night on the Town’ and will also be teaming up with some audience members as their musical knowledge is put to the test in a game known as ‘What the Folk?’

The Late Late Show is airing on RTÉ One on Friday at 9.35pm.
