Labour MP Jo Cox has died after she was shot and stabbed earlier today.

The mother of two was attacked in Birstall, West Yorkshire earlier today on her way to a weekly advice surgery.

According to The Guardian, a 52-year-old man has been arrested in connection with Jo’s death.

Police are looking into reports that the suspect shouted “Britain First” before attacking the 41-year-old.

Dee Collins, acting chief constable of West Yorkshire Police, said that weapons, including a gun, have been taken from the scene.

Police are not believed to be looking for anyone else in connection with the horrific attack.

Jo, who was elected to the House of Commons last year, is survived by her husband Brendan and two young children, Cuillin (5) and Lejla (3).
