Kathleen Gallagher Lavery went missing on December 18th.
The search for missing woman Kathleen Gallagher Lavery has been stood down.
The search was called off after a body was found on Tuesday, December 20th.
A woman’s body was found on Tuesday evening.
Following the discovery, Waterford Marine Search and Rescue shared a statement;
“The search for missing person Kathleen Gallagher Lavery has ended.
“This afternoon volunteers from Waterford Marine Search and Rescue, located and recovered the body of missing person Kathleen Gallagher Lavery.”
“Our Thoughts and Prayers are with Kathleen’s family and friends at this time.”
They added, “Ar dheis de go raibh a anam.”
Rescuers found her body in the River Suir, according to The Irish Mirror.
Kathleen went missing in the early hours of Sunday, December 18th.
A missing person’s appeal was issued shortly after her disappearance.
Kathleen was last seen outside Itty Bitty bar on Bank Lane, Waterford city.
Tributes have been pouring in for Kathleen since her body was found yesterday.
One person wrote, “She was a beautiful girl inside and out. Rest in peace Kathleen.”
Another said, “Thinking of this beautiful lady and her devastated family and friends.”
One person praised the rescuers who searched for Kathleen;
“Ultimate respect to each and every one of you involved at WMSAR and the untold work you all do in responding during times when families are lost and often in despair when a loved one is missing. A heartbreaking outcome for Kathleen’s family and friends, may she rest in peace.”
