The State Examinations Commission (SEC) has confirmed that the Junior Cert results will be published three weeks later than usual this year.
This year there was a major overhaul to the examinations which will effect the results and appeals process.
Just last month, the Leaving Cert results were issued a day earlier than usual. The reason for this was in order to speed up the college application appeals process.
According to the Independent, the SEC told schools across the country that it hoped to release Junior Cert results at the end of September. However, it was confirmed today that it is being pushed.
Last week it was announced that the appeals for the Leaving Cert almost doubled this year.
