The twins went down a storm. Now the show wants their boss as well.
Celebrity Big Brother has offered Jedward’s tour boss a place in the house’s line-up for this upcoming season…but he has turned it down.
Liam McKenna, once part of the pop band Six, turned down an offer of €113,000 to appear on the celebrity reality TV show.
The next series starts on August 13th. A source told the Irish Daily Star today that McKenna is holding out for more money, as he doesn’t believe it is worth upsetting his day job for.
“The producers want someone Irish and need a guy to balance out the predominance of girls so they approached Liam. They know him well at Channel 5 since Jedward were on Big Brother. But Liam just doesn’t think there is enough money offered considering the upheaval it would create to his day job.”
The Lucan-born twins, John and Edward Grimes, were paid a massive €1.2 million to star on the first series of Celebrity Big Brother when it moved to Channel 5 two years ago.
Last year top Irish model Georgia Salpa was recruited for the show for a rumoured €100,000. This year Irish Girls Aloud member Nadine Coyle is rumoured to be taking part in the show.
Former Blue singer Lee Ryan and former Corrie icon Julie Goodyear are both tipped for the line-up this year too, with Goodyear offered a €360,000 deal.
A lot of money…but we still don’t know if we’d do it!
This news comes as Jedward get set to kickstart their ‘Young Love’ tour in Killarney tomorrow night. Hollywood friend Tara Reid, who seems to have been stuck to their hips in recent weeks, will be there to support the duo.
