Please, let some of this come Ireland’s way…

Forecasters say that the UK is in for a welcome blast of sunshine this fortnight, thanks to an ‘insane Spanish plume’ (their words, not ours), that could have temperatures reaching up to 35C.

Yes, that is 35 degrees. Well past “warm day in the park” and into “maybe all this global warming is not all bad now I have to stuff baby powder down my crotch to keep my nether region smelling fresh” territory.

As reported in The Mirror, the UK Met Office is forecasting warm weather highs leaping to up to 27C from Friday. By Tuesday Brits will be needing bedroom fans to get some sleep as the mercury will top 32C, once the hot air from Spain arrives.

Up to 35C was forecast by The Weather Outlook, due to the “insane” heat of the incoming “Spanish Plume” of hot air.

Met Office spokesman Graham Madge said: “Temperatures rise from Friday with 27C possible, and we’re looking at the low 30s for southern England by Tuesday and Wednesday.

Around 32C is expected at the moment – although there may be even warmer air coming our way from Iberia.

British Weather Services forecaster Jim Dale said: “Blistering temperatures will unfold.”

It all sounds very promising, if a little ominous.

Maybe Ireland will get a bit of the tail-end of it?
