A nice touch…
IKEA staff will be getting an early Christmas treat this festive season as the multinational company has made €108 million available for staff around the world for Christmas bonuses.
The Swedish furniture giant has announced that all staff will receive a share of the €108 million pot under the company loyalty scheme with the money being added to the worker’s pensions.
Irish workers are expected to gain up to €1,500 through the bonus.
“We want to be an amazing place to work, where people are happy, thrive and want to stay. We know that our colleagues primarily want to work for us because we are a values-based company with a focus on development,” human relations manager Karin Bergman told The Local.
All full-time staff, regardless of their earnings, are entitled to the same amount with part-time workers receiving a bonus weighted by the number of hours they work.
Earlier this year, Ikea introduced a living wage of €11.50 per hour in Ireland for their workers. The company opened their first store in Ireland in 2009.
