Mothers Against Genocide is calling on the public to join them at tonight’s rally

Mothers Against Genocide are holding a rally outside The Dáil this evening to call on the Government to “do something” to stop the genocide in Gaza.

The group will gather outside The Dáil this evening, Wednesday 21st of May at 5.30 pm.

They’re calling on Micheál Martin and Simon Harris to act now and use their power to stop this genocide now.

The group stated:

“As Micheál Martin and Simon Harris feed us more word salad about Palestinians “losing their lives” and “the world” needing to do something about it, we’re here to remind them that THEY need to do something.

“The very least they can do is enact the OTB, cease all trade with Israel, and impose sanctions.

“We will gather at The Dáil next Wednesday, 21st, at 5.30 pm to make some noise to remind them to do their legal, moral, and human duty to do all in their power to stop this Genocide.

“Bring your pots, pans, bin lids, and bodhráns and show these ‘leaders’ we won’t be silent nor silenced in the face of a genocide.”

The rally comes after UN humanitarian chief, Tom Fletcher warned that 14,000 babies would die in Gaza in the next 48 hours if aid was not administered.

Today, the UN confirmed that aid had not been distributed despite the alleged end of Israel’s 11-week blockade.

The UN confirmed that aid trucks have crossed the border, but aid has not been distributed in Gaza.

Last week, the IPC confirmed that famine is not just possible but increasingly likely in Gaza.

Thousands of children are being treated for acute malnutrition, and at least 57 people have reportedly starved to death since the total blockade started.

Karol Balfe of Action Aid Ireland stated:

“The international community must wake up to the severity of the situation and do everything in its power to pressure them to do so. We need urgent action to stop any more people starving to death, and a permanent end to the war, now – the alternative is unthinkable.”
