Batten down the hatches if you are in Galway tomorrow!
People living near western coastal areas are being advised that flooding is likely tomorrow (Thursday) as high tides are set to hit the coast at the same time as gusts of 120km/h.
Met Éireann issued a Status Orange weather warning earlier today which will kick off from 9am tomorrow morning (Thursday) and run until 6am on Friday.
The weather warning is in place as a result of Storm Abigail which is due to hit the UK overnight.
The stormy weather will fall around the same time as a high tide in Galway and, according to the Connacht Tribune, Galway City Council has warned that flooding is likely particularly in areas around Salthill, the Spanish Arch and other coastal areas.
Motorists are being advised to avoid parking their cars in the main carpark in Salthill or at Toft carpark behind Seapoint and to avoid walking along the Prom.
Earlier this week, the weather was so bad in Galway that one man was almost knocked off his feet.
