In the wake of last night’s Paris attacks, President Hollande gave a statement this morning, blaming the atrocities on the Islamic state.

According to The Guardian, Hollande said that 127 people were killed in the attacks which were planned and co-ordinated from abroad.

It’s believed that 99 people are listed in a critical condition while up to 100 more wounded.

Describing the attacks as “cowardly”, he assured the French nation that every possible step would be taken to fight the “terrorist menace”.

“I pay homage to the country’s defenders who fought the terrorists yesterday.

Everyone has given their upmost and will be putting in their best efforts in the day to come” Hollande continued.

President Hollande called for “unity and courage” as he announced that France would observe three days of national mourning.

“Even if France is wounded, she will rise” said the French head of state.
