Fresh from the grief of a terrorist attack last Friday, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls has warned France could face chemical or biological attack from terror groups.
The news comes as Belgian security forces launched six raids in Brussels in connection with last week’s fatal assaults in Paris. It is believed the Belgian authorities are searching for Bilal Hadfi and Salah Abdeslam.
It still remains unclear whether the suspected ‘mastermind’ behind the attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was killed in an apartment raid in Paris yesterday.
According to the BBC, during an address to the French parliament ahead of a vote to extend the French state of emergency by three months, Mr Valls told MPs:
“…terrorism hit France, not because of what it is doing in Iraq and Syria … but for what it is.
“What is new are the ways of operating; the ways of attacking and killing are evolving all the time.
“The macabre imagination of those giving the orders is unlimited. Assault rifles, beheadings, suicide bombers, knives or all of these at once.”
Mr Valls also proposed Europe adopt measures on sharing information about airline passengers as a way of ‘protecting collective security’.
