Are you addicted to social networking? Then you will be overjoyed with the following news. Dublin’s Grafton Street had just received a very exciting technological makeover. Yep, seriously.

The Irish Daily Star reports that Grafton Street has become the first street in Ireland where members of the public can avail of free Wi-fi. Awesome, right?

Thanks to a company known as Bitbuzz Freedom, you can now surf the net, check your emails, carry out some Facebook poking and make as many shopping-related tweets as you want – all for zero charge. We can’t wait to see all the “Oh-my-good-look-what-I-just-bought!” pictures on Instagram – it’ll be like interactive window shopping.

There are already plans in place to expand the free street Wi-fi service to Temple Bar, Henry Street and the Docklands Area at some point in the future, and it will also be available in Cork and Galway later this year.

Speaking about free street Wi-fi, Shane Deasy, the managing director of Bitbuzz Freedom said that it was only right that people should be able to access safe and reliable internet in the capital city and in other prominent places in Ireland.

Will you be availing of the free Wi-fi on Grafton Street?
