A teacher was dismissed after sending ‘inappropriate’ messages to an eleven-year-old.
According to The Independent UK, the teacher told the boy that she was “single and ready to mingle” while telling him to imagine her naked in the shower.
The messages were uncovered by the pupil’s mother who contacted the school’s headmaster in November 2014.
The teacher in question, worked at Notley Green Primary School in Braintree, Essex, for nine years but was suspended and later dismissed in May 2015.
Speaking afterwards, she said:
“I am shocked and horrified by what I wrote.
“I put the pupil in an inappropriate position, the school’s reputation in jeopardy and my own career, to which I have dedicated nine successful years, in ruin”.
A misconduct hearing by the National College for Teaching and Leadership in Coventry found the woman in question guilty of “unacceptable professional conduct” and banned her from teaching for two years.
