The new Netflix documentary about the murder of Jason Corbett has sparked conversation

The harrowing documentary has become one of the most-watched shows on Netflix this month.

The documentary is about the death of Irish businessman Jason Corbett in North Carolina in 2015. 

The documentary includes interviews with Jason’s two children, Jack and Sarah, who took part to honour Jason.

“We are not alone in our experiences. We hope the documentary honours Jason’s memory while advocating for justice and ensuring that the voices of victims are heard, especially when the judicial system has failed them.”

It also includes exclusive interviews with the perpetrators, Molly and her father, Thomas Martens.

The synopsis for A Deadly American Marriage reads:

‘When Irish widower and father of two young children Jason Corbett found love again with his American au pair, Molly Martens, in 2008, their relationship seemed ripped from the pages of a storybook. The couple, along with Jason’s kids, Jack and Sarah, moved from Ireland to North Carolina to build a new life together.

‘But on August 2, 2015, their idyllic tale took a dark turn when Jason was killed in a violent altercation at home. The perpetrators? Molly and her father, Thomas Martens — a former FBI agent.’

The documentary will shed light on the many questions that have lingered following the events of that night.
