An estranged couple each won €250,000 in Saturday’s Lotto by separately playing the same lucky numbers.
Pat O’Hagan from Letterkenny, Co. Donegal travelled to Dublin to collect his winnings at the Lotto HQ in Dublin.
According to The Irish Sun Pat and his estranged wife Margaret have been playing the same numbers since 1988.
“I’ve won over €1,000 in the mid-Eighties but nothing since,” said Pat O’Hagan.
Margaret, a former hospital worker at Letterkenny General Hospital did a €12 ticket at The Paper Post on the town’s main street on Saturday.
The couple scooped €500,000 in total
Meanwhile, Pat did his €4 Lotto at Mac’s Mace on the High Road.
The couple travelled to Dublin by bus yesterday on a Bus Eireann coach.
Pat celebrated the massive win by popping champagne bottles in the Voodoo Lounge in Letterkenny on Monday evening before travelling to the capital to collect his jackpot winnings.
“I’m really looking forward to taking a holiday soon, to see the statue of David because I’m interested in sculpture.
“I’m also going to visit my brother in New Mexico later on,” he said.
Her.ie thinks these two should give it another shot. We’d imagine the nothing sweetens up a relationship like a bit of extra cash and several luxury holidays!
