A eight-year-old boy has died in a slurry accident in Co Antrim.
The boy’s 51-year-old father is fighting for his life in the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, after being overcome by slurry fumes, according to ITV.
Emergency services attended the scene at a farm near Dunloy, Co Antrim but were unable to save the young boy.
A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said: “The Health and Safety Executive are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a farming accident in Dunloy on Saturday, June 7”.
Ballymoney mayor John Finlay has offered his condolences: “There has been a tragic farm accident and I would like to say that the family are in my thoughts”.
