It has been over three months since the terrorist attacks carried out by extremists in Paris, including a mass shooting in the Bataclan theatre during a performance by Eagles of Death Metal.

BBC report that the lead singer Jesse Hughes told the crowd the band wanted to finish the concert they had started before the theatre was stormed by gunmen back in November 2015. The gig was held in the Olympia venue in the city last night.

One of the survivors Lydia Vassalo told the BBC:

“It was the most extraordinary gig of my life. It was really emotional but not the way I thought it would be. I think everyone needed it.”

Singer Jesse Hughes spoke to French broadcaster iTele before he took to the stage:”I haven’t had any nightmares, and I’ve slept fine, but when I’m awake is when I see things that are nightmares, you know? And I thought that talking about it would make it easier… but it’s not. There’s really no frame of reference for this at all. I just wish it would go away.”
