Drivers are offering lifts to help people to get to the March For Choice tomorrow

Here's some options if you have no way of making it to the march.

This is such a great gesture for people to make.

The March For Choice – calling for the repeal of the 8th Amendment restricting access to abortion in Ireland – takes place tomorrow afternoon (Saturday), starting from Parnell Square, Dublin at 2pm.

Organisers are expecting a big turnout, but getting into and out of the city centre will be a challenge owing to the ongoing Dublin Bus strike.

With that in mind, ordinary people are rallying to help get others where they need to be tomorrow.

One such person is Niall Roche, from Tallaght, who has posted this message on the March For Choice Facebook page:

“I’m happy to spend Saturday morning in and around South West Dublin getting people to the Luas stop; my car seats 4 including the driver. I don’t want any paying for this – just tell me where in Tallaght, Rathfarnham, Knocklyon, Greenhills, Templeogue, Terenure, Crumlin, Walkinstown or Clondalkin you’re in and I’ll bring ya to your nearest Luas stop. This is getting shared by a few people and I won’t get notified if some comments on a share so please contact me directly.”

You can contact Niall directly here.

Alternatively, there’s a Facebook group called ‘Transport to the March’, which also has some options that might be useful for people who want to attend. There’s information there about minibuses picking people up around Dublin, while others from around the country are using the page to suss out the possibility of catching a lift.
