The dog found abandoned at a Scottish railway station alongside a suitcase of his belongings has been adopted into a loving home.
Kai, a shar-pei crossbreed, was left tied to a railing outside Ayr train station in South Ayrshire, Scotland last month.
Kai was left with a suitcase containing dog food, a bowl, a pillow and a toy, was being cared for at Glasgow’s SPCA centre.
According to reports, Kai was sold online, but was left at the station when the new owner said he didn’t fit the description of the ad.
Following the news of his abandonment, the Scottish SPCA said it was inundated with offers to adopt Kai – with families from as far as Canada and the US offering the pup a home.
Kai has since been adopted by Ian Russell, who told authorities he was heartbroken when his Dalmatian Mica, who he had owned for 15 years passed away this year.
“When I heard about Kai I knew the little guy needed a break but I never thought in a million years I’d get him. “Being the one to re-home Kai is a bit like winning the lottery and I’m really looking forward to getting him home and bonding with him.”
