Irish Runner Derval O’Rourke pulled out of yesterday’s 100 metre hurdle at the Woodie’s National Championships in Santry Stadium.
O’Rourke’s participation in the London Olympics could be in doubt after the athlete experienced back spasms while warming up for yesterday’s race.
According to the Irish Daily Mail, O’Rourke discussed the situation with her coach Sean Cahill and decided that it was better to pull out of the race.
Cahill spoke about whether or not Dervla will be able to compete in the London Olympics, which begin at the end of this month.
“At this stage everything is up in the air. She will be back with the physio in the morning and we’ll see what happens.
“At this moment we can only keep our fingers crossed but we want to do everything possible to be okay for London.”
We hope Dervla lets her body rest because we’d be devastated if she didn’t get to compete.
