Singing crowds gather on Grafton Street amid Level 5 restrictions

Restrictions are expected to lift next week.

With Level 5 restrictions still in place until at least December 1 many have been shocked by the emergence of a video of crowds gathered on Grafton Street. The crowd can be heard loudly singing Oasis's 'Don't Look Back in Anger' while dancing and drinking on the popular Dublin shopping street. You can watch the full video, as obtained by the Independent here. Gardaí said they received no reports of issues on the popular street last night. With Christmas quickly approaching and some experts going so far to say that we should postpone Christmas until January, it remains to be seen whether restrictions will be lifted on December 1. Many across Ireland have gone weeks, and in some cases months, without seeing friends and family and have been looking forward to the end of lockdown and being able to gather to celebrate the season with family and friends. Likewise many businesses which have remained shut during the lockdown are looking forward to reopening, which many not happen if the lockdown is extended.
