Councillor Joe Crowley Passed Away While Canvassing Today

Fianna Fáil councillor Joe Crowley passed away while canvassing in Limerick this evening.

The Limerick Leader reports that he was canvassing for Fianna Fáil’s Willie O’Dea in Corbally, Limerick when he was taken ill earlier today.

The former Deputy Mayor of Limerick City and County Council had suffered from ill health last summer but recently returned to work.

Mr Crowley, aged 54, is survived by his wife Christine and three children: Hugh, 21, Andrew, 21 and Vivienne, 23.
