The documentary about the Conor McGregor and Nikita Hand trial airs tomorrow
Virgin Media Television has announced that a documentary about the Conor McGregor and Nikita Hand trial will air this week.
Downfall: The Trial of Conor McGregor will undoubtedly be a harrowing watch for many, but a vital one nonetheless.
In late November of this year, a jury at the High Court found that MMA fighter, Conor McGregor, assaulted and raped Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018 and awarded her almost €250,000 in damages.
In this Virgin Media News documentary, Reporter Nicole Gernon looks back at one of Ireland’s most dramatic civil trials, the testimony that shocked the country and the evidence that ultimately convinced the jury that Ms Hand’s account of what happened on December 9th, 2018, was true.
Hand has been praised for helping victims of sexual assault feel less alone.
Speaking outside the courts following the verdict, Hand said: “I hope my story is a reminder that no matter how afraid you might be, speak up, you have a voice and keep on fighting for justice.”
Watch ‘Downfall: The Trial of Conor McGregor’ tomorrow at 9pm on Virgin Media Play and Virgin Media One.
