Chloe Koyce said she has been ignoring the comments for too long
Chloe Koyce has shut down claims that she lied about being followed back to her Dublin hotel in March.
The influencer sparked an essential conversation about women’s safety after revealing a man followed her into a hotel lift after a night out in Dublin.
In shocking footage, Koyce revealed the man was holding a belt in his hand when he followed her into the lift.
The harrowing moment was incredibly difficult for Koyce to open up about, but she did so to help raise awareness and to warn other women.
The influencer has been hit with claims that she lied about the incident.
Trolls have been claiming she “paid someone to do that,” but Chloe has shut down the claims in a powerful statement.
She said the comments she has been receiving are hard to ignore, so she decided to address the situation.
She wrote online: “I have been ignoring comments like these for way too long.
“I know I shouldn’t be addressing it, but like WHY would I do this to myself.”
The influencer said it has been so difficult to deal with these comments following the ordeal she faced in March.
She added, “This is so disgusting and upset me so much. This is why women don’t report these incidents or speak out, because this is the backlash we get. I’m shocked.”
Chloe continued, “Unfortunately & fortunately for me, life goes on. I have to post for brands and film my ads while also still dealing with the aftermath.
“It’s so bad on my mental health, but it’s also what I love doing, so why would I stop?”
She said she’s “sick of these comments” but felt like it was time to address them.
Chloe confirmed the Gardí were investigating the incident.
