Children in critical condition after Land Rover crashes into primary school

Multiple children are in critical condition in hospital after a Land Rover crashed into a primary school in Wimbledon.

Police have launched an investigation into the horrifying incident, but are not treating it as a terror-related incident.

Metropolitan Police confirmed that nine people were rushed to hospital following the incident.

Seven children and two adults have been removed from the scene for medical treatment. Some of the victims are believed to be in critical condition.

The youngest victim is believed to be only 4 years old.

A major incident has been declared at The Study Prep School in Wimbledon.

“At this time nine people are reported injured, these include two adults and seven children. We await further updates on their conditions,” a spokesperson told The Mirror.

“The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene. There have been no arrests. We will share further updates when we can. We are not treating this incident as terror-related.

“An investigation is underway to understand the full circumstances of what has taken place.”

Emergency services arrived at the scene shortly before 10 am. Around a dozen ambulances and five fire engines were spotted at the scene following the incident.

London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police were first to arrive at the scene.
