The incident happened in Co. Cavan
Two boys have been injured following an e-scooter accident in Co. Cavan.
The accident took place at 7.15 pm on Tuesday, May 20th, at the roundabout on the approach to Ballyconnell.
Emergency services and Gardaí rushed to the scene of the incident following the accident on Tuesday.
Both boys were rushed to separate hospitals following the accident. It is believed they are in their teens.
One boy was airlifted to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street in Dublin with serious injuries.
The other boy was transported to Cavan General Hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
Gardaí issued a statement following the road accident.
A spokesperson for Gardaí shared:
“The road is closed for technical examination, with local diversions in place.”
“A male child was conveyed to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
“A male teen was conveyed to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.”
Gardaí confirmed they have launched an investigation into the road traffic accident.
The public has been urged to avoid the area following the accident.
Cavan County Council confirmed the N87 is closed temporarily this morning.
