Here’s hoping that you enjoyed the weekend sun because it looks like things are about to turn for the worse this week.
According to the Irish Mirror, Saturday was hottest day that Ireland has seen in seven months, with temperatures hitting the same levels as Tangier in Morocco. However, things have cooled considerably since and Irish Weather Online is now predicting that we will see heavy rain and thunderstorms from tomorrow.
“Monday will be cloudy with further spells of rain or heavy showers. Tuesday will see heavy, possibly thundery showers which could bring higher than average accumulations of rainfall with flooding possible,” said one forecaster.
Low pressure will dominate the weather picture for the coming week with unsettled conditions bringing showers or longer spells of rain each day. On Tuesday, rain is likely to be heaviest in Munster with potentially 20 to 30mm in the West and spot flooding could develop. Elsewhere should see amounts of generally 10 to 15mm.”
