The area around the Eiffel Tower has been evacuated this evening as heavily armed police entered the nearby Pullman hotel.
Champs de Mars metro station has been shut down but it is not yet clear whether this is linked to the police operation at the Parisian hotel.
People have been live tweeting from the hotel after guests were told to remain in their rooms.
The Eiffel Tower was shut down today after last night’s atrocities which killed 129 people and injured an estimated 352 people.
