The 16-year-old, believed to be from north Cork, sadly passed away on Tuesday, July 1st.
The teenager reportedly "fell from a height near a lake" when visiting the Conor Pass area near Dingle.
It is understood that the incident happened near Peddlers Lake.
According to The Independent, the boy was visiting the area with his parents at the time of the incident.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident, but the boy was sadly pronounced dead.
The Valentia Coast Guard and Rescue 115 helicopter were called to the scene.
Members of the Coast Guard Unit, members of the Kerry Mountain Rescue Team, Gardaí, and members of the National Ambulance Service also attended the scene.
Gardaí confirmed a post-mortem will take place in due course.
A file is also being prepared for the office of the Coroner.
