She told the New York Post:
"I asked him if I was going to die. And he told me that I was going to be Ok, that I only had a flesh wound"The reality was that her leg was amputated later because of the extent of her injuries. Mike came to check on her in the hospital and they slowly became friends - bound together by this tragic turn of events. Their friendship blossomed into something more, and this Christmas Mike proposed to Roseann.
