This is absolutely awful.
Hilary O’Herlihy, widow of the late RTÉ broadcaster Bill, had €250 stolen from her purse while she visited his grave in Dublin this week, her daughter Jill has revealed.
Her mother returned to her car at the cemetery in Dublin to find that her car had been broken into and that money had been taken from her purse.
According to the Irish Mirror, Jill tweeted the shocking news this week writing: “€250 cash stolen from my mum’s purse in her car whilst visiting Dad’s grave. I’m livid that she has to go through this.”
A number of people reacted in disgust to the news, with many branding the incident “disgraceful” while another Twitter user wrote “so sorry to hear what happened to your Mum! What is the country coming to, an absolute scandal.”
Worryingly, others responded to the news by stating that this type of incident has become a ‘regular occurrence’ at graveyards around the country.
