Ladies, when it comes to dolling ourselves up for the day ahead, we might have to let our efforts slip slightly – why? Well, we need to spare a thought for all the men out there, because apparently we’re just too damn attractive (sorry boys!).
The Irish Daily Star reports that nearly a third of male Irish drivers are distracted by attractive women while they’re driving.
A new study, conducted by AA Ireland, shows that of 15,500 Irish male drivers, 3 in every 100 can’t take their eyes off us.
And you know what’s worse? We’re distracting the poor men so much that they can’t focus on their driving properly.
A massive 28.8 per cent of the men surveyed admitted that they had either a “near miss” or a proper collision with another car because they were too busy having a gawk at an attractive woman.
In stark comparison, only 2.3 per cent of female drivers said that they had been distracted by a gorgeous man in the same manner.
“It is an enormous difference between the genders just on that one point,” said Conor Faughnan from AA Ireland.
So ladies, for the sake of road safety it’s probably best if we let our beauty regime slide ever so slightly. You never know – the fact that you didn’t wear any lip stick could save a motorist’s life!
