This is so upsetting.
Limerick Animal Welfare has issued a warning to pet owners after a 7-month-old puppy passed away after being left out in the cold.
The rescue centre uploaded a picture of a puppy who was sent into their care on Thursday saying that he was “fighting for his life.”
Limerick Animal Welfare wrote on Facebook:
“This seven month old puppy was left out in the cold last night and is fighting for his life at Mid West vets. His body temperature is low but he has a heart beat and Sally is doing everything she can to save him. Never leave your pets out in the cold.”
Unfortunately the pup, Petey, passed away as the cold was too much for his body to handle.
The centre updated the post today, writing:
“Sadly Petey passed away it was too much for his little body to recover. Thank you to all the kind people who donated and offered to care for him.”

If you have animals at home, please keep them inside and away from the cold weather.
