The US has issued a worldwide travel alert following the attacks in Paris on November 13th.
They are warning US citizens of “increased terrorist threats” since the attacks and are advising them to “exercise vigilance”.
“Current information suggest that ISIL (aka Daesh), Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram and other terrorist groups continue to plan terrorist attacks in multiple regions,” a statement from the State Department advisory said, also citing attacks in Denmark, France, Mali, Nigeria and Turkey.
“US citizens should exercise vigilance when in public places or using transportation,” the alert reads.
“Be aware of immediate surroundings and avoid large crowds or crowded places. Exercise particular caution during the holiday season and at holiday festivals or events.”
The statement comes as Brussels remains on high alert this week following a lockdown in the city over the last number of days.
While it is believed that the train network and schools will reopen tomorrow, the city remains on the highest level of alert.
