She confirmed that she had to undergo five surgeries to get to where she is today but she is finally at a place where she feels happy again.
The young woman explained that she had five operations following the attack in December 2021.
Alanna told The Irish Examiner: "It took five surgeries to get here, and they were all under general anaesthetic.
"There was emergency surgery on the night it happened, then they did a bone graft to rebuild the socket," she said.
Alanna said she didn't want her eye to look the exact same as before so she chose a hazel-coloured prosthetic implant instead.
She explained: "I didn’t want it to be the exact same as I was before. My other eye is dark brown. I said I’d go for hazel."
She said she wasn't dreading this surgery because she has a "beautiful new eye".
"I’m getting a new eye and actually for the first time ever, I am not dreading it. I’m actually looking forward to it. It is some different kind of feeling," she added.
The Dubliner went through so much trauma when she was attacked in Ballyfermot in December 2021, but she said she hasn't gone to counselling over the incident.
"I grieve the past and what might have been, but I’ve accepted what’s happened," she explained.
Alanna suffered severe facial injuries following the attack outside the Civic Centre in Ballyfermot on December 30th, 2021.
